SO! here's the skinny...

Been a lot of game releases, been a lot of real life happenings, and all of us are still frequenting ventrilo at various times of the day...

The Game Breakdown!!!

Star Wars: The Old Republic was released, a good amount of us are playing it on the Iron Citidel server, as the guild "Guild of Calamitous Intent".

Leage of Legends is a continual favorites amongst the majority of the community.

APB: Reloaded is out, you can download it on Steam if you haven't already, and I know that SC (ingame: McEldoo) and myself (ingame: Atifex) play it ocassionally.

Battlefield 3 is easily the best shooter out right now, and you can find us all playing throughout the week.

The RL Breakdown!!!

Atifex (that's me) has moved back to Ohio is going to be a daddy.

Kurtis and Kevin seem to favor Skype and/or Mumble as a VoIP utility... you may all call them names for it.

Alex's interweb provider is a bunch of tool bags, once I find out the name, I'll make sure to spread the word.

and finally... Beardclan.com is lacking anytype of regular visitation... seems like it's passé to have personal forums...

This week, not much has changed... a lot of fun has been had, and we've been playing a lot of APB... so lets get to games:

Yeah, not a lot going on this week... anyone wanting to join us, we play on the US-West server (Colby), as Enforcers.

In other news... Age of Conan is going Free to Play, which a lot of us are excited about... more news on that when it comes up.

Not much has changed this week. A few of us have been invited to play Age of Conan again, with it being the 3 year anniversary.

Hellgate (London) is being resurrected, and is hitting beta on June 3rd. Only a select few have signed up for the beta, due to some skepticism, since the original release was just mediocre.

Servers:

The Brink server is running in perfect order, and has "Server Hijacking" enabled. Which allows for the server to be used for any gametype/mode.

I've also added a "Suggestion" area to the forums. As what the name suggests, that's what it's used for... (can be found here: http://beardclan.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=9 )

Server Update - Brink

Today we have preodered a server for the upcoming game Brink. As per the site we use for hosting our servers, GameServers.com, the server will be live at the time the game goes live (which we assume will be around Midnight of release day, 0001 on May 10th).

As of now the server name will simply be "BeardClan.com".

BeardClan: The History

It's been a few years in the making, but we've returned to our roots. About 4 years ago, KurtDOS (BlitzkriegBeard), Ninjar, and Myself formed HIV, initially just a joke during our membership with a community known as MML2, it later expanded into HIVgaming, and welcomed the former MML2 members as well as some personal friends and the edition of 2 more lead members, Kavi (ChaosMedia), our lead web designer, and Aidyn, our leading female member.

After a long run of mild server launches, and a less than mediocre expansion, with the edition of some old MML2 members, Psychosisd999, Pine, (BeardFlex) and Sturm Chicken (FancyStache), we decided to expand into a much more involved role, and begin doing reviews of technology, games, and various entertainment. Thus, d20entertainment was born, and as the burning star we all wanted it to be, it quickly white dwarfed, and we let the resulting black hole attempt to maintain itself for a while too long. Although this time did start an increase in our Ventrilo being used, and the start of some very regular names appearing on a daily and weekly basis.

And then, there is now...

After much discussion, the aformentioned failures, and the growth of some very stylish beards... BeardClan was born. Returning to our roots of just a community, with an emphasis on growing and developing into a place for people to have fun, exchanging ideas, and get answers to any gaming, hardware, software, or tech support questions. As we finish development on the site, and start building our forums, we'd like to welcome all members past, present, and future.
